Jen Gruger, PMI-PBA, Medical Writer
My background
Born and raised in the north valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico, I am a 'Burquena at my core and my heart is currently fed in the sweet village of Tularosa, NM. I have worked in childcare, association management, construction, banking, IT and telecom and the last sixteen years in healthcare. My role has primarily been that of special projects manager for things like quality improvement, telehealth implementation, software development and most recently, community health. I have a PMI-PBA (Project Management Institute Professional in Business Analysis) certification. I married the man of my dreams and we have two amazing girls with families (the furry kind) of their own in Oregon and Abu Dhabi.
My writing roots
I have always loved writing. From journals to journalism. Writing anything; stories, poems, letters, manuals, proposals, emails, love notes. I never thought of myself as a writer. I was just a hard worker who got that part of my job - whatever job it was - right.
In 2025, after sharing a journal entry with a mentor, she declared
"You are a writer!"
I sat with it.
I am a writer.
